We were luckier with the weather than this time a year ago (when two of our three concerts had to be cancelled because of snow)!
On Tuesday 11th December 2018, we were welcomed by the Catholic Ladies' Group at St Francis of Assisi Church in Kenilworth for a very friendly evening of shared Christmas music. We were ably led by our gifted accompanist David King, who added his own special take on Sleigh Ride. The ladies offered delicious refreshments and, when it was their turn, impressed with their singing.
Our main December event was an afternoon concert in the village church of Ettington, under our Musical Director Leon James. In the first half we sang the Rutter Magnificat (which we had sung in Sceaux in November), this time with our very own soprano soloist, Yvonne Rollins. After the interval, there was a selection of Christmas music and readings, and an opportunity for audience participation. During the interval, mulled wine and mince pies were served. All in all, a lovely occasion to mark the third weekend of Advent.
