Warwickshire Singers was founded in 1970 by David H Jones, who was then Warwickshire County Music Advisor.  He encouraged music teachers (peripatetic and otherwise) to get together for music-making with like-minded folk, to network and to socialise.  49 years on, there is still a committed core of original and new (non-teacher) members, who enjoy the format the choir now has of two charity concerts a year.

Past concerts have raised money for various charities and have taken us to some interesting venues: Hampton Lucy ('cathedral' in the village), Our Lady's (Grade II listed 1960s church in Leamington Spa), and the rebuilt St Nicholas' in Radford Semele.  Going back even further, we have had tours to Malta, the Czech Republic, Italy and France.

With music tending to slip off the curriculum, we are keener than ever to keep the ideas of our founder alive in the wider Warwickshire community.
